Thread: Gettin way better

Ive gotton about a hundred SR shaves under my belt and today was the first time I got a 2 pass BBS shave with just the SR!!..... Most of the time I do the second pass with a Shavette. Im gonna have to blame it on much improved stropping technique and finding the sweet spot angle that my Dovo 4/8 likes....... Now to work on fine tuning my honing skills!

'Big Grats, Coldcut. That's gotta feel good. I have a section that still defies bbs, but when that area succumbs, I'll be crowing like a rooster.

My defiant spot was my chin!!.. Trust me there was plenty of toe curling today to get that spot BBS, but I pulled it off without a drop of blood..... Come to think of it i haven't used my styptic in about 3 or 4 shaves ....... If I could tell all you guys out there that just started proper stropping, razor angle, beard/face prep and just simply taking time to anticipate your next move is what really helped me alot... Just sayin

Oh, Styptic, my Styptic, you save my blood,

One dab from you and the lather goes from red to pink,
but the Red Sea has parted and is now in my sink.

I wield my straight razor like a knight of old,
scything and slashing, a fighter so bold.
But there are unfortunate times when I get a slash,
and it's generally on an ATG pass right on my 'stache.

But I can press on with you, Dear Styptic, at my side.
You are there to scab me up when I chop at my hide.
Without you I'd be at a loss to shave with my Chopper,
and I'd wind up looking like a medium rare Whopper.
