Default Over 2 Months, Much Better Results

    SRP People,

I'd like to express my deepest gratitude for those who put up this forum and everybody helped me get through first steps. I've got the best shave in my life today. And more importantly, I've done it with the razor I honed and stropped myself. Together with the shave's fresh breeze I feel great!

For the people who are new and having trouble, my humble advice would be patience. For sometime I thought I'm allergic to steel In time your technique gets better, your skin gets used to. Today's shave started with a shower, hot towel, pre-shave oil, continued with cream based lather WTG, ATG and fine tuning passes. Cold water, cologne, cold water, alum block, cold water, balsam as the after-shave treatment. I begin to see that the biggest challenges are non-dominant hand use and pre-shave treatment for me.

Lastly, I don't think straight razor shaving saves money or it's environmental or it promotes some other ethical code(at least that's not why I like it). It's just fun and it's definitely one of the great pleasures of life.

    Sincere thanks,

    fatcatmehmet

I remember your early posts. Glad to hear it came together for you. Congrats on the shave and especially on the honing!
