    Thumbs up 3rd Shave

Well, it just keeps getting better, I had a couple of nicks and had to use one band aid (this time on the right side of my neck) I think one of the best things about being a newbie is you can definitely see your mistakes (in the color of red)
haha! Joking aside, I am starting to get parts of my face with that smooooth shave feeling. Press on brother newbies, this is the beginning of something beautiful.

In my opinion, the first dozen or so straight shave have a supurbly unique quality in which you learn so much with each shave. It is such an exciting time, when straight shaving is both new, intimidating, and yet conqurable.

I ditto Chip, Press on brother newbies, this is something beautiful!

That's great to hear. Persevere. It sounds like you're well on your way to becoming an expert with the straight razor.

BTW...get some antibiotic cream or ointment to put on those nicks and cuts.

Welcome aboard! You're very right about your mistakes being highlighted in red. For the first few weeks, my face looked like a rare standing rib roast. Then, before you know it, you'll complete a weeks worth of shaves and realize you didn't seriously cut or nick yourself. After that, you'll start seeing more BBS areas on your face as your skills improve. Right now, my problem areas continue to be my chin, part of the moustache area, and Adam's apple.
As jhenry suggested, antibiotic ointment (Neosporin) is your best friend. I found it very helpful for serious razor burn

    Welcome to your new obsession!

    Nicely put sir.

I am going to enjoy my 3rd shave tomorrow morning and I can't wait! I kinda wish my beard grew faster so I can shave everyday! so far I find that with the straight razor shaves, I'm smoother for longer... go figure.

Chip, my 4th shave comes tonight. I can say that I have had near exact the same experience as you with my first three.

+1 Mark, good to know that the first 12 are on a steep learning curve.

+1 Vlad, I have become borderline obsessive about my next shave. I have planned and replanned my preshave routine, my girlfriend catches me practicing my stroke with the razor in the car and while watching TV. Why cant my hair grow faster.

I have to get up at 5am every morning so at the moment I have to wait for the weekend to arrive...all week I have been planning my routine!

Today was my 5th shave, took around an hour (full face) it was heaven.
An hour just pampering myself and the results wern't too bad, couple of little nicks.

Roll on every day straight shaves.
