Default Getting Better All The Time!

It just seems to get better as I go. Of course for a newbe there are a lot of things to get better. I have only used a Genco that I got from the classifieds here. I apologize to the person I got it from because I can't remember who that was. But it was a shave ready Genco for $35 Shipped. First shave it pulled hair. As I said everything gets better so it's hard to tell why, but the last shave was really smooth. For one, my technique is getting a little better I think. I'm learning to strop better and giving more strokes on the strop, and the strop is probably breaking in. And I started using Castle Forbes Pre-shave. What ever it is, Probable a combination of it all, I love it. My wife even said I was getting better ( nick wise ). Now to try for no nicks at all. I have a bunch of razors I need to get honed as soon as possible, but I love my little Genco. It shaves really nice. I think I need a few more Genco's.

I already have RAD, HAD, and BAD. I have a few razors I've been buying, But I'm going cold turkey because I need to satisfy my other Ad's.I have a few brush's I NEED to get. I really need to get The razors I've been accumulating honed so I can use them. And HAD ? I've always HAD a thing for stones. I've got a collection of Arkansas, and a bunch of water stones, mostly aimed at knife sharpening.I do have a Ninawa 12000, but I NEED to get a bunch more just for razors. What I really need is to win the lottery so I can afford to buy all these new toys. I'm sure you all know how it goes. Resistance is futile.

The first few shaves are the hardest part, after a few hundred you'll have unknowingly cultivated your shaving skills to the point where you don't even think too much about it. Like anything in life, the more you you practice the better it gets. All of the extras are cool, but it's neat to think that your $35 Genco, your current strop, and a barber hone is almost all of the hardware you would need to shave for the rest of your life!

    Smooth shaves,

    Jason
