Default One down, many to go.

Well fellas, I finally got my first shave this morning, and I have to say it went fairly well. I used my Dovo Best Quality 6/8, Fitjarsoaps' "Wild Thing" shave soap, and a Tweezerman Pure Badger with a big of Nivea Aftershave Balm to smooth everything out. I shaved my whole face WTG and ATG except for my jawline, as I like to keep my rather scruffy chinstrap going, with only two minor nicks. Mind you, i had a fair bit of razor burn on my neck, but I'm going to attribute that to improper technique combined with my rather sensitive skin. All in all I'm very pleased, and can't wait to really master the whole idea; thanks to everyone who's answered my questions to this point, and in the future; I expect there'll be many more to come.

Glad you made it! You are probably right to attribute razor burn to improper technique try playing around with your angle of attack to find what works for you. Also any facial hair that let's you skip the jawline is probably a good idea I find my jawline the hardest place to get bbs. Congrats on your first proper shave make sure to follow it up with plenty more.

    Default Bravo

    Pour this man a drink.

I have no doubt you did better than I. I did atg relatively quickly (first few days), but certainly not the first shave. Nicely done. You'll clearly be getting the best shaves of your life.

Nicely done. First razor-burn free shave is like a gift from the heavens... and in my case is followed up with a nice slice to remind you to keep your head out of the clouds .
