Default My razor is BACK! Thanks Lynn

I probably couldn't be more excited...the US Mail just delivered my grandfather's razor, just back from honing by Lynn. It looks FAR better than when I sent it, the blade glistens with a mirror like polish and the edge looks great. This razor is over 100 years old, special to me because I never met my own grandfathers, both of them died relatively young at 41 years old and both just about 4 years before I was born in 1954. My dad gave me his father's razor, and I sent it to Lynn for honing....it has returned in beautiful condition.

I can't wait to shave with it on Monday morning. If I'd known it was arriving today, I would not have shaved with a different razor.

Lynn, thanks to you for your expertise in bringing this razor back to 'shave ready' condition.

Hmmm.... with all the people who have their fathers or grandfathers razor I wonder if it is not time to form a club. I wonder what to name it?

    Okay...pics:

As I mentioned, this razor is 100 years old, razors with the "Extra Hollow Ground" on the blade were produced between 1900-1920 by Hartford Cutlery in CT, I assumed about the middle or 1910. My grandfather passed in 1951 at 41 years old, assuming he started shaving at about 15 yrs old in 1925, this razor is thought to have even been his father's (my great grandfather). With many years of use, the spine was a bit flat so it needed a bevel reset but I'm really pleased to simply have it at 4 generations. Lynn did a great job, the pivot pin is tighter, the scales are shiny and smooth, the blade looks terrific under the microscope. It's a very nondescript razor, but it means a bunch as an heirloom.
