I suggest spending some time reading the Wiki -- perhaps starting with:

Straight Razor Place Wiki:Books/Beginners Guide - Straight Razor Place Wiki

All the previous suggestions are good ones. A new Boker, with strop, for $105 US is a pretty good deal. I have a 100-year-old Boker which shaves nicely. If the new ones are as nice, they'll do fine.

The low-budget path is certainly through Whipped Dog Straight Razor Sales or the "Classifieds" on this site.

    Thanks Man.
I went with a whipped dog straight, and one of his strop kits.
    Should be here soon.
