    Default Hello world!

Hello, people, I am 22 years old. Somehow I am very dissatisfied with most of the innovations of our age and the fast pace life is forcing on everybody. We don't have time to sit down and eat like normal people, we don't have time to meet and debate with friends, we don't have time to sit and listen to our favourite music album or to read a book. We always gotta do it real quick and if possible do several things at a time. Right, but somehow this doesn't suit me nor does my gillete suit my likings.

So there we go I decided I need something better, I have a very raw beard, it's very thick and grows up real fast as well. But somewhat I always enjoyed and enjoy shaving and thought this might add up to the pleasure of the proccess.

I just want to ask without taking anymore of your time as to if this straight razor a friend gave me(it was his gramp's) could do the work if I give it to somebody to sharpen and hone it?

Thanks, guys, loving all the work you put into writing the tutorials and everything for the newbies.

**EDIT** Shiesh, thought I was in the member introduction section. If it's alright please move the thread, thanks.

Just about everyone here like to slow things down & take their time, so don't feel rushed about asking questions or feel bad about taking our time so we can answer your questions. The guys here chose to take their time to read threads & chose to take their time to answer questions. Don't worry about that.

To answer your questions, check out the classified section, there are a few members who offer their restoration/honing services. They are all very good, so you don't need to worry about the quality of the work that will be done on your razor.

Good luck, and let us know how the shaving goes.

Welcome. Clean that razor up before getting it honed.

I was just thinking though, how could I desinfect a razor that's been used before me? What exactly do I put it to soak into?

Thanks for the replies guys, appreciating the warm welcome!

    Here's a thread about disinfecting razors: http://straightrazorpalace.com/gener...sed-razor.html

    I use Barbicide.
