    Default Second Shave

Did okay on the left side, but got a couple of dings on the right side. Still working on the grips and angles. Gotta keep focused on the angle or else the blade kinda skips across the shaved area and oops, a claret fluid begins to seep! I'm far from being discouraged and will persevere. Resistance is futile!

    Thumbs up

Early on it requires a lot of focus. But don't over-focus. Trust your right brain. As you develop good muscle memory, your right brain will set your blade at the proper angle and lead your hand into the best stroke for that part of your face.

When you see a post by JimmyHAD, read his sig. It has some great advice for avoiding nicks.

Keep telling yourself "This is something I can do!"

Keep the faith, it just keeps getting better...and if don't, time to touch up the blade...

Even though you were joking, I think this is very important and the most important reason you will succeed with this. I don't think you can go into this with a quitter's attitude as you will be defeated early and easily. I am about 5 months into my straight shaving renaissance and I can tell you that the first two months were filled with dissapointment, raw skin, questions, depression, etc.

Keep at it and be sure to maintain that attitude. Also, this forum is invaluable for information and assistance.
