I don't think you will get a great shave as possible with the 4k/8k. You should get some CrOx too. Nice razor.

Someone make me stop. I just bought two more razors on the bay (160465933693, 170522758339) and one of the 12k Chinese stones. Roll the dice....I figure I can get my honing practice in and still shave with a razor that works. My wife is going to kill me.

Yeah no kidding, I started with straights last week and I already have 3 razors. I even got what I thought looked like a beat up Wade & butcher off ebay for $26 to practice on but when it showed up it looked great and I might send it off to be worked on instead.
