I use both, & most do, but you can learn to shave very successfully with just the one.

You will probably find a lot of different answers to that question.
I use both hands. Right hand on right side when going WTG, left hand for right side going XTG( from the ear towards my mouth) right hand on right side when i go in the opposite direction. Against the grain, I do a little of both, depending on where I'm shaving.

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

I only hold the razor with my right hand, and I have a shaving method that works very well for me that way.

The way I always think about it is if you find something that works for you, keep doing it.

I use right hand only..as I had an injury @ birth..but thats ok..I could probably shave with my str8 razor with my right hand without looking..prolly..though haven't tested..but I know I could if I had to...

Here's a good one showing both hands. Tongue in cheek, but pretty skilled with a razor.

Here's another showing how to get round with the use of just one.

Both chaps have been active members here at one time or another. They may be useful to you.

I'd try two, & keep trying. It actually makes things easier once you're comfortable with it.
You can help things along by getting the non dominant hand to do more everyday tasks. That can help if you're not entirely comfortable trusting it to take one of the keenest edges a man can produce & forcing it learn how to apply the correct pressure to your throat to enable it to remove stubble without drawing blood right away!

Joking aside, muscle memory is formed fairly quickly.

I actually tried this last week. Closed my eyes & got told off by my wife for showing off. Shaving's the easy part. Try cleaning the blade when it gets loaded with lather. That's where the skill lies!
