    That is the Hanging Hair Test.... Where you hold a hair in your hand and slice through it with the blade.

    Kind of like the Japanese test on their Samuria Swords... How many bodies can it slice through!!

    Yes . All sorts of hair tests can indicate sharpness but as I said only your skin can determine how smooth the edge is.

    The hanging hair test is a simple assessment tool, but it is not an accurate assessment of the quality of the edge. Your flea bites could still be in the edge, though reduced, with most areas of the edge popping hairs, and you could still have an uncomfortable shaver.
