Thread: DOVO Tortoise Shell Straight Razor CANADA

Hey there,
I'm looking to buy a DOVO special 5/8 to give away as a gift. The problem is, I live in canada and it's been really difficult finding one under 130$ with shipping included.

I've tried ebay.ca and ebay.com, I've tried Shavemac, Classic Shave, Dovorazors.com, SRD (which has the cheapest price for now at 137) and Fendrihan... and I've also tried Vintage Razors.

Does anyone know any websites that ship to Canada and offer a reasonable price?

I'm also hoping to get a strop, hone and brush as well... Any ideas where i can get the DOVO imitation, plus a strop and brush for under 150$ - or a set of some kind?

Fendrihan is in Canada...would hope that they ship to their own countrymen.

Given the high Canadian dollar, you would be best to order from a US supplier.

Also, I don't think you will get it for less than $130. There are very few retailers. So what you is is about as cheap as it is going to get.


Now some retailers will hone it up, no charge. Which more than offsets the cost of shipping.

well... what are some inexpensive american companies that sell dovo tortoise shells at a reasonable price and that isn't SRD?

i have tried fenrihan - they dont have the dovo tortoise shell there.

I'm not pushing any companies, but I think you are going to have a hard time finding it much cheaper and have it truly be shave ready. If you have been hanging out here a while, you know how important that point is, if not, let me stress it now. Buy shave ready.

Are you set on a tortoise? If not, I think you can drop about $30 in price and still get a fine razor that is shave ready.
