tx the only downside is when you have a bad shave you have a paper face

Sorry to hear of the bad experience. Someone told me that using a DE will help you get the angles down, so you might try it. Might also want to try a regular straight instead of the Shavette. I have never used one but have always heard that they are less forgiving.

    Matthijs,

Sorry to hear about your mishap.

It would be a good idea to stop by the drugstore and purchase some antibiotic ointment to treat those cuts too. They may become infected.

Your mishap is the main reason that I shy away from using a shavette. There are some SRP members who do use them, but from what I've read here, the technique is somewhat different because it is more aggressive than a regular straight razor.

Next time, lighten up on the pressure you apply to the blade as you shave and also don't move the blade horizontally across your face.

Perhaps its time for you to consider investing in a regular straight razor as well.

    Take care--and smooth shaving.

Sounds like you have some learning to do, especially when it comes to the other side of your face, keep at it and be patient and it will come to you, It seems as if you are on the right track but need to practice the fundamentals.
