Default So an update on my progress......

So I have been shaving for about 3 weeks now so that makes me about 10-15 shaves in. I have gotten pretty good with the cheeks, I can get them pretty smooth. The neck/throat area is lagging behind but I can get passable results. The chin gets scary but I'm getting better. The upper lip...... well lets just say I think I know why Lynn rocks a stache..... lol

IDK I think I am going at a normal pace with my progress but it just sucks that I still have to clean up with a regular razor afterwards albeit less and less.

I will say this shaving is finally fun and now I look forward to shaving and I shave EVERY DAY now when before it was only every third day before I went to work.

I need to get some of my other razors in fighting shape but I'm waiting for the scales I want. All in all I think it was a GREAT idea for me to start this.

Thanks to all the guys who have given me advice, I'll be asking more questions in the future.

Default So an Update on My Progress

    Hello, Firefighter:

If I may suggest this: Throw away the clock and the calendar, because straight razor shaving is not a contest. The worst you can do is to push the razor. Hone your skill at the speed that comes to you naturally.

    The neck especially takes time.

You're doing just fine. Keep at it. Be methodical, and careful. Keep the pressure light. Enjoy the journey.

    Regards,

    Obie

You have given me similar advice before and believe me I am listening. I'm in no rush, I'm having fun and I actually feel like I am doing well.

I tell you this I wish I had done this when I was much younger and had less of a "man's" beard. Them hairs is tough on this old man. lol

Hey not everyone catches on right away. I know some of us can almost get the perfect shave but not everyone can and some of the guys around here are years into this and still don't feel liek they've had the perfect shave. Stick with it! I'm a newbie and I couldn't be happier with my results.
