    Del1,

i am ordering a dovo & strop from SRD. The plan is once i see and feel what areally sharp blade feels like to then hone my ebay blade myself. I am pretty intuitive and a quick learner so honing is a skill that i can learn fairly easily. I already own a series of norton hones so learning the skills should be fairly easy. Thanks for your help.

if you want to learn proper honing, you may want to buy the DVD that LYNN has on the classifieds here. it covers proper honing along with a wealth of other info..good luck

Just out of curiosity.. Did you get it from altima_55 on ebay?

Anyway.. Fox Cutlery is a marking that was used by Koeller & Schmitz Cutlery company. Solingen Germany. (1884-1955)

I have one of their Fox razors as well.

    Default Your New Fox

Good luck with your Fox. Being new to straight razors you might want to look into sharpening techniques. There is a great write up on the "Scarey Sharp" technique of sharpening Razors , Wood Chisels etc.
I have had excellent results using this technique.

    Good luck.

The overall condition is very good blade is polished and blade is sharp. I am pretty certain this is a usable straight. Ok the name of manufacturer is FOX Cutlery co. on the box and the blade itself. It also said it is made in Soligen Germany.

Anybody know about this co. and their blades? Looks to be a good find although I don't know as I am new to straights.

Any feedback will be much appreciated.

Looks good, but it is actually "Trade mark" on the package . Get it honed up and you're good to go. Happy shavings
