    Looks like a great setup, and you can never go wrong with Dovo, plus Lynn is going to hone it so you'll be set, also make sure to get his dvd, lots of great info in there. Good Luck!!!

    Do you think $230 for a full set is too much for a beginner?

    Yeah, if your hurting to pay that much i would advise against it , but with that kit everything your getting is very great stuff and realistically last you a lifetime, when i started i bought a dovo special (110 bucks) and a filly strop(20 to 30 bucks) and that was it only because i had brushes and soap to begin with, but now im wanting to upgrade to a better strop so.. .. to each his own

    Best to start out with a good set and be done with it. Otherwise you are always chasing something that is not quite right. If you equipment is good then you can concentrate on your technique.

    So now it's between the Dovo "Black Star" and the "Bismarck". Any recommendation between the two?
