You know, I find the same thing. I tend to shave at night, because that is when I have the time to take my time with it, and, when I was shaving with the monstrosity that is the Gillette Fusion, I would have ingrown hairs and have to shave the next night.
Now, though, I can shave at night, wake up, still smooth, go throughout the day, be fine, go to bed, starting to get prickly, wake up, go through the day, then shave that night, and only be shaving my 5:00 shadow. It's really nice. Plus, there's no more ingrown hairs! And the shaves are wonderfully relaxing and comfortable.

It takes me almost 2 days to get any noticeable bristle when using a straight!

back when I used a M3 I could go 3 maybe 4 days with no prep(heck no soap half the time), now with a str8 I need to shave nearly every day with major prep/work(but its cool).
