    Default An interesting 911 call.

I am still very new to SRP but from my avatar you might guess that I am a career Firefighter and very proud to serve my city. Here is a recent 911 call that you may find interesting. A few shifts ago, we were dispatched to a "service call" which is what we in the fire service call a "non-emergency" emergency. Think of this as kittens in trees (yes this really happens) or being locked out of your home or car. As I approached the front door, a elderly woman directed my attention two her husband inside who was lathering up with what looked like a VERY old shaving brush and about to shave with a pearl handled straight. The call was only for malfunctioning smoke and CO detectors so like I said, no real emergency. I had to remain professional so I could'nt engage him in the 20 questions that I had hoped for but, he said he has been shaving with the same straight for years and was a proud Navy retiree. He was probably in his mid-seventies so I would give him 55 years plus at the pearl handle of that straight. Only I would notice that the entire time he followed me lathered up as I changed his detectors, the lather didn't dry. I was glad to help this guy as it was my job. I am glad to see that traditions die hard, In the fire service and at the bathroom sink.

A big +1 on that. And...it might be a nice civil service call for the elderly so to speak

+1 also, and when you have your sit down with him, take lots of notes, or just record the whole thing and listen to it while you sleep, lololol
