Default Had a very MANLY day.......

Well I started the day with a straight razor shave. It went well, it was my first. I really only did the cheeks and started on my neck decided to quit while I was ahead NO CUTS/NICKS/WEEPERS.

I figured out that my idea of going a few days w/o shaving prior to my first shave was not a good one. My beard is really thick and it was a little grabby the razors is probly too sharp. Bob Keyes restored it, and it is very sharp. I also realized that I need more water in the soap than I have been using. Suceeded, with a ton of suds.

All in all it seems that there is a bunch for me to learn and I'm pretty sure it is going to be fun.

Also my T. Miller strop came in.... Damn that thing is pretty. Almost hate to use it.

To finish out the day I went to the gun range and threw about 400 rounds down range in various calibers (.40, 5.56, and 12gauge) it went well. I'm also drinking some Johnny Black on the rocks right now.

    Today was pretty damn good.

Very nice man day! I don't think the length of the beard should be a problem for you, check this dude's beard out. Comes off pretty easy.

I did a quick search and a couple guys said that if the blade was too sharp it would grab a little.... Doesn't make too much sense to me but what do I know this was my first 1/2 a shave. lol The beard was about 3 or 4 days of stubble, my beard is like wire pretty tough and thick. It's the only thing I can think of.

I did a super hot shower, hot brush, hot lather, let it sit for a couple of minutes after working it in for a while, put more on started to shave ran about a 20*-30* angle. It just grabbed on me. IDK am I doing something wrong?
