Default friedrich baurmann & sohne question

I have a straight razor that as used by my grandfather and I'd like to restore it. It has friedrich baurmann & sohne Solingen - Germany and Old Style Hand Forged stamped on the Tang. Unfortunately the blade has several large chips in the blade. Where can I get a replacement blade? Its fine if I have to clean and hone the blade.

I'll send pictures if you would like.

    Thank you
    Gary

Er... If you're trying to do a "Restore" that generally involves fixing the blade and/or replacing the scales...

Are you trying to save the scales and put them on a new blade, or do you have a love of the scales, and want to repurpose them?

Hmmmm maybe I should post some pictures. Based on my limited experience, it looks like the blade is unrestorable so I would like to replace it and keep the scales. That would be awesome if I can save the blade, but if so, How?

Oh, wow... Um... I do not think that blade is coming back as anything but a tooth pick... Sorry..

However, those scales are pretty beautiful..
I'm not the best here, But there are a lot of guys on here who know a TON about scales -and everything else razorly...- But, ah, one of them should be around soon, if not, shoot a PM to Max [Maximilian] (Straight Razor Place Forums - View Profile: Maximilian) or to Glen [GsSixGun] (Straight Razor Place Forums - View Profile: gssixgun) They've both done some of the most amazing restores I've ever seen.

Send 'Em PMs if no one with the info you need comes along soon.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

Thank you Gugi for the welcome and the suggestion. I'll continue my search. Hopefully I'll find a good replacement.
