    Default Forgot how to shave

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Towards the end of my 3rd pass on Monday (I use 2 on a normal day, and 3 on a special day when I want to be BBS) my razor all of a suddent felt like a 2x4 in my hand. I felt that I had no control and just put it down, rinsed off, put on my aftershave, and used a cold towel.

This has never happened to me before. It's like my muscle memory totally disappeared.

BTW, Tuesday and Wednesday's shaves were fine.

Better watch out. That's what happened to old Homer La Fong. maybe your razor is haunted.

It was the strangest thing. Ever since then I have been fine. It's like my hands just became hunks of steak with no dexterity. Well, everything is fine now.

On another note I am excited because I am putting together a SR travel kit - mug, shaving cream, styptic gel, another brush, a small strop, etc.... and the packages are finally arriving. I'll have to put one of my brushes in before I leave the house as I can't justify spending the money on a SR that just sits around.

I got some Muehle sandalwood shaving cream, as I usually use Muehle shaving soap that I melt into a special container, and the smell is great. It sorta smells like the men's cologne Curve if that helps.

Sounds a bit like a "duh" moment.

I get them sometimes! The other day I was wondering around the flat looking for my socks when my other half pointed out to me that I had them in my hand.

Sometimes the brain just goes off to la-la land on its own. What can you say? It works hard and sometimes it wants some time off...! :-)

Unfortunately it wont file a holiday request, it just deserts you whenever it feels like it..! And if that moment happens to be when you have a razor sharp... err... razor in your hand, its never the best..!

Glad things are back to normal!

Not trying to be an alarmist but my mind tends to go to the medical explinations (I am a Paramedic) if you don't mind me asking how old are you and do you have any kind of Hypertension or seizure problems? Possibility of a TIA or a Petitmal seizure.

Or you coulda just had a Mental Fart...... lol

    I'm 85, 470 pounds, 5'2".

Yeah it seems to just have been a brain fart moment.

The stuff that I ordered for my SR travel kit that came in today was from www.nashvillknifeshop.com Both times I've ordered from them they have included an item for free! The don't always have the best selection, but the customer service is great. Not to detract from SRD, since I've ordered from them too. It's just always good to have options.
