Default First razor & strop arrived from SRD today

I received my first razor and strop today from SRD. It was very well packaged and quick delivery to boot. I'm sure they will see more of my money in the future. I was going to get the Filly but SRD's 2 inch red Latigo was only $4 and change more than the Filly. It appears to be money well spent. The razor looks very nice but the scales are uneven. The razor won't sit on its back without falling over and I can feel the unevenness between my fingers when holding the razor. I'm sure it's not a big deal, but I wish they were more even. I'm sorry for the poor quality pics, I need more practice. I'm not sure you can tell how uneven the scales are from the pics.

Looks good other than the uneven scales. I dont think it will be too big of a problem, other than looks.

I have had my hands on that exact razor.....with the same scale issue. It's not really a huge problem from a function standpoint. As long as it's comfortable in your hand stropping and shaving, you'll be just fine. The sharp edge is the only really important part.

    Good Luck!

    Rolex1979,

Nice...Real nice. That new str8 razor of yours is a real beauty. Congratulations.

BTW...That 16 yo Glenlivet in the background isn't too shabby either.

Was the bottle full when the razor was delivered ? If it was that might be why the razor won't stand up . Just kidding .... nice razor but I would love to have a shot or two of that Glenlivet. Just had a double of Talisker 10 so I'm feeling frisky. Smooth shaving with your new razor.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I didn't realize that Lynn and Don included a bottle of Glenlivet with each razor...
