Hello to all. Not sure where to post this so I'll try here. Many years ago I used a straight razor to shave. Kind of handed down from my father. Well I have not shaved with one in over 40 years and wanted to know if they are worth anything. I have six straight razors, and presentation case and a hone. I think most are made by Solingen. They appear to all be in good condition.
I know first post and asking questions in most likely the wrong spot but if anyone out there can help, thanks

we do not give price appraisals here.
That being said, please feel free to post some pics, we always welcome some eye candy
If you hang arround the classifieds you will get the idea what gows for how much. Another option is to put your stuff up on eBay.

Welcome to SRP. By all means post photos and we can evaluate whether your father's razors are in good enough condition to be worth honing up and using. If they are vintage razors , especially if they are Solingen made, they are probably good shavers. I would love to see the hone as well.

If you are thinking of beginning to shave with them you have come to the right place. Here is the SRP Wiki where you will find a beginner's guide and many tutorials on all things related to straight razor shaving. Also the straight razor data base where you may find examples of some of the same razors that you now have.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Tried to post a picture or two but not sure how. Is there somewhere to go and learn how?

You've got some nice razors there. Well worth honing up to shave ready and to my eye no restoration necessary.
