    Default Another Year Tried....

    I hate to be a beginner when I've been around for so long, but a roockie I am. I had my local barber get me started in '73 when he got me a good Hess razor and strop, and I bought my brush at the PX. (Retired Marine). I didn't know the razor wasn't shave ready and had no idea how to get it that way. With no instruction and bad luck I kept the stypic and alum people in business and soon fell out of love with the idea of wet shaving! I found Lynn's site on the net and decided to try again.
    I just finished my second shave (only shave evey few day.... retired) and feel great! What an accomplishment for me.... I'm so glad to be here!

    Glad to see that you found this site . This is THE place to learn ANYTHING about straight razors , and their use and care . I wish I could have started using a straight sooner , too . I started when I was 52 (I'm 55 now) . I had been collecting straight razors for around 20 years , but never tried to shave with one because I knew nothing about shaving with a straight . I found this site while I was looking for info on my razors , and I've been shaving with a straight for almost 3 years , now . I can honestly say that I like shaving with a straight so much , I don't shave with anything else .
