Thread: Hello

Hello,

My name is Chris, I am a member at badger&blade and have been intrigued by straights for a bit, got into using a DE but that didn't last long as I used mostly Trac II and Atra cartidge blades but I don't find them fun or as sharp as I like although they do help some of the irritation I used to get from a Mach III. I figured this would be a good place to start and read up before I actually bought my first straight and I can learn about technique. Look forward to reading up and asking questions so I am ready for my first shave!
I was looking around and wanted to ask if anyone thought this was a decent starter razor as I don't want to spend a lot of money on a first razor and am kind of weird about using items used by some one that they have shaved with numerous times...

Hah I posted that last night half asleep but on a side note I love your avatar. Great show!

I was looking at the dovo's sold here but I like the tortoise shell too much and that is probably more than I wanted to spend for a first straight. Not a fan of that butter shell.

I started with the Ruprazor combo for $60 and have no complaints. As with all this shaving stuff I ended up buying fancier more expensive stuff but I think that was a good place to start.

You could get the razor you prefer and add on $20 for the same Filly strop.

I also noticed this on hos site:

I'm tempted to look over his offerings!
