    Two razors.
Both are F.W. Engels: one 6/8 round and a 5/8 square.
    Started about 5 weeks ago.

    I have a few one's I wanna try.

Duck, Henckles, Wustof, Joseph and son, W&B, 7/8,8/8,9/8

Beyond looking for those cheap, I just buy razors I don't figure I have the skills to repair yet. Then I repair them. I've accumulated just over 20 so far. Am working on what I think is my first wedge (It appears to be partially reground, then given up) now. It's an interesting repair job. So much metal to remove.

Other than it I've got a Fil, A Puma, A Torrey, A Robeson, A "Extra Hollow Ground Sheffield", A Chas F Schmidt, A Hammond, A Morris, A "Best Silver Steel Solingen", A King Rex, A Geneva Cutlery, and about a half dozen more.

    Default How many razors

I have 8 one for each day. I keep one out of the line-up each week that needs re-freshing of the edge. I started with one that I bought that was suppose to be shave ready and was not. So I bought another that was to be shave ready and was not. Then I found out about SRP and finally got a shave ready straight razor! Since then I have been learning how to hone and have bought some cheap vintage straight razors just to learn how to get a razor shave ready. Since I've had alot of practice I now can get my own razors shave ready.
The answer is to get a shave ready straight razor from a SRP member and maybe one extra to rotate and to have on hand when you need to re-sharpen one of them yourself or send it off for re-sharpening.

iv bought a few used ones off of srp members they are all different makes and styles each has there own unique traits i have really come to love a wedge and a barbers notch and a hollow ground spike point.. so idecided to treat myself and make my own cased pair since SRD was offering 10% discount and free honing for life on a set of dovo ebony spike point i figured those would be perfect for those weekend trips now i wont have to take a strop with me just an old old spice mugh and eveready brush i picked up on ebay for about 12$ and i saved a small sample container for shaving cream and i refill it and take that with me

I had just one when I started out, a DOVO Black Star.

As I found razors I liked, I added to the collection.

How many do you need? As many as you can get your hands on!! :-)

I thought I'd just have the one when I was young(?) and innocent. I bought a second to practice honing. It became like eating potato chips.
