Default Help with chromium oxide and diamond spray

How do I know when to add more chromium oxide or diamond spray to my balsa strops? Or do I clean the old off and start over?

I've just been intermittantly spraying my denim flatbed with diamond spray as and when really. I cant see how much is on there so I just followed the instructions on the bottle, and gave it a quick dusting after a few months just to top it up when it stopped being so effective. I just applied it right over the old stuff.

On one of the Livi videos you can see him touching up a loom strop with CrOx crayon and just applying it over the top of the stuff thats already on there. So I guess you can do the same, just dont apply too much as CrOx does work better if applied thinly.

If you want to get rid of the old CrOx or diamond spray off balsa you can just sand it down and reapply to the fresh wood. Thats one of the huge benefits of balsa!

Basically just apply more when the sharpening qualities of the paste start to fade.

When the CrO loads with metal it will become very dark, it will start to look black. Just make a new balsa strop, balsa wood is very cheap.
