    Default It can be done!

Hooray! I finally tried to shave my entire face -- and I did it! Problems areas were mustach and chin, so I've been avoiding those altogether. Been at this now about two weeks.

Prep: Usually take a shower and lather up. Tonight I used a hot towel and then lathered up. I think the new badger brush is helping, too. Great lather.

Razor: Dovo "Best Quality." I think my stropping is getting a lot better, and that may have played a part.

Problem areas: Just took my time and went really slow. Followed one of the vids in the wiki for the stash and followed some tips I picked up here for the chin. Still some tugging and pulling on the chin, but just took my time, relathered when necessary and kept at it. Chin turned out surprisingly smooth.

Results: Overall a good shave. Only one small nick on the neck and a few patches that I could probably go over again -- more a feel thing than a visual thing. Let's say it looks good enough to go to work or a meeting. Didn't want to push my luck, but another pass probably would have done it.

Thanks to everybody here for the help, ain't perfect yet, and it is a lot like a puzzle. Just break up your face into parts, work on each part till you feel comfortable then go on to the next and take your time. If you can only do some parts of your face per day, so be it.

I feel a lot more confident now, and look forward to those bbs shaves everybody keeps talking about.

Congrats! Those first few shaves are a rush, like driving WAY too fast in an Indy car...no matter how slow that razor was moving.

    Congrats!

Sounds like you've got a good approach there - do what you're ready for, take your time and enjoy the journey.

All the best with your future full shaves,
    Michael.
