    Default 2nd SR shave today

A few days ago I posted about my 1st SR shave; thanks to all who responded with helpful advice and encouragement.

Today was my 2nd SR shave, this time with an ebay "shave ready" Crown & Sword 5/8. I even did some tentative stropping (1st time), maybe 12 strokes just to get the feel of it. I decided not to push my luck too far and risk screwing up the edge with my inexperienced technique on the leather.

This time I paid more attention to the blade angle and to stretching my skin. I went with the standard newbie sideburn/cheek WTG pass. This time, no nicks or cuts with a better feel for the edge. I don't know if it due to the different blade from my 1st time (John Blyde 11/16, ebay "shave ready") or due to a bit of learning curve from the 1st time. This edge 'seemed' sharper than the one I used last time.

I'm expecting my new Dovo 'Best Quality' from Vintage Blades any day now; I know that this razor, after Lynn's attention , will be my benchmark for the proper edge. Then the rest will be up to me.

That is likely a very good razor. I know that all those various ERN brands are considered to be great shavers by many members here. Congrats
