    Default It took time

    Hi there,

I started shaving with a straight around the end of July this summer, and I had the typical bad newbie shaves, a few good nicks, and plenty of razor burn from experimenting with ATG.

However, I have just started to be able to get almost BBS shaves and I can now go atg on my neck with minimal pulling. I am really happy. It just takes a lot of practice like all have mentioned. It has been at least 4 months...

Personally I never thought I would be able to get nice shaves, but I am glad I stuck with it. I hope this will give some doubtful newbies some hope.

Congrats man. I got the hang of it much quicker, but I feel like using a DE before switching to straights gave me a fairly good idea of what my face can handle, hair growth directions, prep, all that jazz.

West Lafayette? Purdue student? I grew up about 2 hours away.

Very nice. I thought about it but I really wanted to get out of Indiana. Now that I am paying out of state tuition in SC, I kind of regret it.

Well done for persevering! It's not rocket science, but does take dedication to get there, which many just can't manage.
