How long should you wait to remove the styptic off your face after using a styptic pencil? I looked on the wiki and couldn't find the answer.

Does it just stop being a white cake after a while? How long does it normally take?

I am not sure what you mean, mine is solid bar that does not leave any trace after use, does not get soft or anything like that.

If you are using a stypic pencil and it leaves a white "cake" that's a bit much. Sometimes it may leave a white "haze" over the area and it usually will just rub off fairly easily.

I have the same situation with my styptic pencil. I just leave it on until it dries and the bloodflow stops, then I wipe it off with a washcloth.

Okay, well I may have used a little bit too much. Also It came off really easilly, so next time I'll just wait for bloodflow to stop and wipe it off.

I always do a good cold water rinse after my final pass this action usually closes up all cuts or weepers. Anything more and I use pressure and tissue paper for a few minutes, then roll on a styptic which is easier to apply than the traditional styptic.

I go weeks without having to use the styptic.
