    Vellkommen Arild.

Fun with even more Norwegians here.

Here is a link to the SPR-Nordic group.

I hone (and restore) my own razors, but I'm not going pro.

Fitjar offers honing services in Norway.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and the offers for help! I will ask questions and learn as much as possible. When I receive my honing stone I guess I need some help to do it right, but I ordered it yesterday so it is still a few days away.

Fun to read about some of you have lived here in Norway for a few years, I live not far away from Oslo. And a son named Arild in Australia, that`s special!

It is the Fitjarsoap website mentioned earlier in the thread that I order my soaps and creams from. Jorunn is a very kind and helpful lady, and she speaks fluent English.

Again, thank you for the welcomes

    Welcome to the forum.

Edit: I just ordered some Fjellheim shaving soap, thanks for the recommendation - I can't wait to try it!

    Welcome Arlid,

Nice to have new Scandinavian here. You will find yourself spending hours while reading all this interesting, useful, serious and sometimes not-so-serious topics from these pages.
I am most interested to hear more of those Fitjar soaps. Does she have any webpages or does she sell only from the house. I will be visiting Norway next year and surely will buy and try some of her products.

    Regards,
    Tomi

This is her site. She ship international, go to the webshop and shaving products. I use her soaps, and my personal favorite so far is the Amber soap, I really like the "old" masculin smell, and the soap itself performs perfectly, a truly rich lather, and a lot of it also. She has a lot of different scents, and the soaps are handmade using natural products, many of them ecological from fair trade projects. I asked Jorunn to make a Neroli shaving soap also, you can get the Neroli shaving cream and aftershave cream. The smell of Neroli is wonderful. I use the aftershave cream, and can`t recommend it high enough. Jorunn is very fast to answer mails, so just ask her any questions.

    Welcome Arild.

Like you I live in a little town in Norway as well, so it's nice to get to know fellow countrymen with the same interrests.

I do know of a few stores in Norway that sell equipment if you are interrested, tho the sellection is not as good as most of the international ones. But the positive side is that you don't have to pay customs and stuff seperately.

Other than that I'd like to welcome you, and let you know that there are several scandinavians here.

I am 31 years old, from norway and I have just bought my first straight razors, 1 shumate and 2 wester bros i have been enjoying stroping them and learning to shave with them. I have managed fairly well so far and look forward to learning the art of shaving with a straight razor.
