I didn't get a close shave as well (which I understand is expected) and the funny part for me was after I did 2 passes above my lip I coudn't see any difference from what I had before I started to shave!

I decided to stick to WTG for today and plan to practice every morning until I get that much-coveted BBS feel.

If you came away from your first straight shave with just one knick, you've done well indeed. I don't remember my first straight shave; I passed out from the blood loss.

    Paolo,

Great to hear you had a good first shave.. just take it easy and expand your comfort zone as you go. and you will be shaving like a pro in no time.

    Just dont bleed too much..

I've nicked myself many times, but never in the same place twice. Each time I have, I learned what not to do.

The learning curve is steep, but I got to really good shaves pretty quickly. I think a willingness to keep at it is the most important thing. Good luck.
