    welcome to srp.

the steel of the blade is not stainless, the scales are, which may make it a but unbalanced, like a wapienica, but i've never seen one of them in person to know for sure.
it will need to be honed by somebody with the tools and the experience before you can shave with it.
if you are looking for price comparisons classicshaving is the other vendor selling new thiers-issard razors

i have sharpen couple of them . Blade is hardest steel you will find. Ti puts edge to it not sharp enough to shave with . you have to set bevel again and make it shave ready. will consume a lot time. usually 3-4 times more then regular sharpening blade. when you done it will keep the edge. Hope this helps.
i should add price had been increase too. don't know why?

I second what Sham said. The steel is hard but when it's finished, you have a very nice shaver! I've only honed two of them but I really liked testing them!

I will also recommend Straight Razor Designs for the MOST competitive prices on the razors and an awsome selection. You will get it shave ready and you also get a free honing when its due. For me this was an awsome value for the money. I purchased the Dovo Renissance and am LOVin it!

I also looked around and SRD was the lowest price.

    Good luck!
