As I now have 2 razors, please remove me from this contest, to allow others a chance at it.

    ok, here I go!

    1) Has joined the forum after June 1, 2009
    -July, 09
    2) Owns one or less razors
    -1 only..dull now...
    3) Will promise to pass on the razor and strop once they have acquired a replacement
    -my pleasure!
    4) Writes a 1-2 sentence reason why they would like to receive the kit.
reason nr 1:CAMARADERIE: to show to my friends and family that theres more behind being a straight razor than just a perfect shaving.
reason nr 2: GIRLFRIEND COMPLAINS: after years of imperfect shaving using eletric and regular super cheap disposable blades I have finally found a system that really delivers a decent shave. My girlfriends face says thanks!
    5) Is willing to pay the cost of shipping the Priority Mail box to their address
    -No Problem

Default I would like to be considered

    Hello,

I would like to be considered to win this kit. I would really appreciate it because I have one straight razor, but my girlfriend wants to get into straight shaving as well and I would love to give her mine, but I cannot afford to buy a new one for myself. Also, the only brush I have is a Wal-Mart one that keeps loosing its hairs on me . Once I have the money and can buy a replacement razor, I would not hesitate to give this away to another person new to straight razor shaving in need.

    Thanks for the chance,

I own a shavette I've been shaving with that for a few months. I keep cutting my face up though. I think because it's not a real blade. I'm looking for to get a real set up but, I don't know what to get. I would take good care of the blade and promise to pass it on.

Just joined this afternoon, and may be the newest newbie to date. I received a straight razor from an antique store, but I have no idea about how to get started shaving with it. The starter kit would be a definite blessing because then I could just start shaving and find out for sure if this was for me or not. I really want to get started but finances are a problem (3 kids have a way of sucking all of the money from you). Then it would be great to be able to pass it along to someone else to help them get started. This seems to be a great site and can not wait to get started one way or another with everyone's help. Thanks.

I just joined within the hour... joined the FB group as well. This is actually my first post in the forum.

What you are offering is almost unbelievable. I don't own any razors other than a Mach 3. Razors are really expensive and it is hard to explain how buying a straight razor and a strop would save money to my wife. We have 9 children (see my pictures on FB: Log In | Facebook) and I was laid off from the oilfield about 2 months ago.

I ordered a blade off Ebay last night but after looking at the wiki, I may have thrown some cash away.

This is a great opportunity you are giving someone. Even if I am not selected, you have really set the tone for this forum. Thanks!

    EDIT:

Forgot to mention, the reason that I want to use a SR rather than a disposable is because I like things that are classy and traditional.

Well, I have been a member here for ahwhile, I still dont have a working straight or a strop. Even though I need a set, it seems as other people are in more need than me.

    Giving this a bump...

Four more days until the selection is made. The lovely ladies that are to make the selection have not read any of the entries, but they're looking forward to it.
