I hope that I never end up with a 1 1/2 incher! That would be gut wrenching! I actually got this nick by trying the scything motion I thing the wrist turn aimed the point into my scar!

I guess for now I have to really watch this scar on my cheek! I have never had to respect a non-living thing as much as have so far with this straight razor deal, but It is too addicting to stop!

Lol and its a scar so it will take longer to heal... I'm sorry for you.

Three things I have learned will absolutely give you nicks as a newbie.

    1. Getting close to the mirror to see better, banging the scale on the mirror and nicking yourself.

    2. Not watching the point. Especially on ROUND points. Just cus you think its not a point, if you don't mind where the edge ends you'll still recieve some blood.

    3. Not watching the heel. Shaving your jawline and focusing on the point lead me to forget the heel a couple times. Got some injuries for it.

Also, I did somethign real dumb. I shaved with too much angle/pressure, got soem bleeders that ingrew, etc. Then I tried to SCRAPE the blade perpendicular to the skin to lift the whiskers out of the pores- this will work with a kitchen knife. Always done it. Kitchen knives aren't even close to as sharp asn a razor. I touched my face and got a 2 inch cut on my lip. ****
