    Default Edges of Hone

I would like to ask you advanced guys another question please. What is the best way to bevel the edge of a hone? In the Wiki's on honing it states, "The reason we bevel the corners of a hone is to avoid doing any damage to that razor sharp edge we are trying to develop" however it does not say how to bevel the edges. Please advise.

A lapping plate such as a DMT D8C or you can use sandpaper on a flat surface. Just round the edges and make sure to get rid of any chips that the blade woukd come in contact with when honing.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I tip the hone on edge as I rub it over my lapping plate and vary the angle between the stone and the lapping plate until I have achieved a small radius (on the long edges of the stone). In essence you are using your lapping plate to sand or grind the sharp edge off of the stone.

I might add to use wet/dry sandpaper or another hone . . . not sure what the advanced guys would think though.
