    It was pretty darn good I must admit! I bought my first DOVO and strop straight afterwards. I guess the whole shave took about 30 - 40 minutes, but this guy was a professional! If I tried to do all of that at home I wouldnt get to work till half ten...!

    He also gave me some pointers about which way my beard grows and which directions to make passes in. I would heartily recommend newbies going and getting a proper barber shop shave as it does give you a level to aim for and the barbers are usually very helpful with their advice!

    For people near London, Trumpers do an "Open Razor Shaving School" as well! Could well make a good Xmas/ birthday gift for someone... Now I just have to drop a few hints to SWMBO...!

    According to the Vintage Blades website, Lynn Abrams does the honing. So I suspect you're razor was truly "shave ready." But I suppose a razor could be shipped by mistake that hadn't been properly sharpened...
