I saw this thread earlier, and couldn't post. I had many skin tags on my neck. I finally went to a Dermatologist. He was going to let his nurse take them off. She had an injection of lidocaine and a pair of nippers. She said, "Do you want to try one without the shot, I think the shot will hurt more than the cutting". I would have needed a shot near every one, and I had a bunch. Well, it didn't hurt that bad at all, and I had them removed. Fortunately, My insurance paid for it. What you can do, is use a pair of nail clippers, or toe nail clippers. As long as your sure they're skin tags...go for it...

    Default Skin Tag

I had my Dermatologist do it during a visit to clean up some minor cosmetic stuff. He said they can turn into bleeders and used "septic?" to stop the bleeding. He also pulled it out a bit and cut it so it would be level with the skin.

Thanks for all the great advice,

I had my first shave with a straight today and I think I will have to wait a while until I am more efficient with the straight before I start LOPING anything OFF!

    LOL

They can be purchased at any drugstore and have liquid nitrogen in them so they freeze the tissue immediaetly. It takes a couple of seconds to do then just leave it alone and the tag falls off after a fairly short time.
Just talk to a pharmacist about them.

They don't actually have liquid nitrogen in them. The stuff in the cans that you buy at the drugstore contains a chemical which is not nearly as cold and does not work nearly as well as liquid nitrogen. Having said that, for really small warts and small skin tags, the drugstore stuff could be effective, but for larger warts, especially plantar's warts which are notoriously difficult to treat, and larger skin tags, this will likely fail.

I guess I will mention again, not to be a nag, not to somehow protect dermatologist's income (I could care less) but because its a safe thing to do, before you start messing with skin lesions on heavily sun exposed areas like the face, to have a dermatologist or other experienced person eyeball the lesions, to make sure they are not skin cancers.

I did that yesterday (sanitized the heck out of the clippers and sterilized my neck afterwards). But generally would not do this on the off chance it wasn't a tag.

Ok well after a few shaves under my belt I decided tonight that off it would come.

So during my shave I lathered up real good and shaved over the skin tag...only a partial seperation and she bled pritty good. I then took one sheet of toilet tissue and gave a little pluck. Off she went and I am now happy to be rid of that ugly growth.

    LOL it was SO easy!
