    Default My first post

Hi all, about time I said hello! Most people know me as Les and I live in Kent, England.
I've been slowly building up to shaving properly, started out by getting a vulfix brush and then really started enjoying that when I got some Trumpers soap to use with it! Then, last christmas I got my first straight, a cheap replaceable blade type to see how I got on before laying out the extra cash for a proper one and strop etc. It's taken a while as I quite often only shave once a week or so but it's become more frequent since I started enjoying shaving. Now I figure it's time to join up, say hello and start looking through the classifieds!
PS I hope this has come out ok, I'm typing on a tiny mobile phone screen!

    Thumbs up

Welcome to SRP, Les. I thoroughly enjoyed the week I had in Canterbury last year, and I hope you will enjoy this forum as much!

    Welcome to SRP.

Good on ya for slowly making the switch to a proper shave. Browse and stay a while, there's plenty of info here for you to check out. The wiki is also full of useful information, but you should check out this first to make sure you get off on the right foot: Beginner's guide to straight razor shaving - Straight Razor Place Wiki.

Be sure to ask questions and don't be shy, everyone here's friendly (for the most part ).

I'm not friendly. I'm a complete jerk. Really. A nasty blight on the otherwise gentlemanly fellows here.

Welcome to SRP. We're awfully glad you're here.

Well, everyone else is. Bah. Humbug.

As a notorious classifieds scourer, I can tell you that you'll find real gems from the sellers here. It really is the best place to start, and as a member here you have access to so many great resources beyond the classifieds.

If it wasn't for this place, most of us would not be doing as well with SR shaving as we are. You made the right move!

    Cheers!

    Ogie

Thanks for the warm welcome chaps, I've already been lurking for quite a while so I've had a good look around the wiki etc already but will continue to read and reread.

fritz I'm glad you liked our little city!

I've just bought my first 3 proper straights almost locally, I'll let the detectives amongst you work out which ones they are!

Just need a strop now so I'm off to find out about postage for a filly to the uk!
