Can you think of a US provider that sells presharpened razors be Berlin other than Classic Shaving? I preferr domestic providers.

Who? Found SRD so its between classic shaving and SRD. If I go with price its Classic Shaving, if I go for style its SRD.

Yup, vintagebladesllc.com is domestic too. Ruprazor.com also has some great entry level starter kits that come shave ready.

Also, srd has prices pretty much on par with classic, some specials are even less, plus the stuff from srd is honed by Lynn. I think I saw a post not long ago where Lynn said that he hadn't honed anything for classic in quite a while.

Grabed a few more quotes from the merchants mentioned now I need to decide which one gets the sale. Difference is one has a white sheath while the other has imitation mother of pearl. So am I willing to pay more for the handle? Got to make up my mind.

While you are looking, you would be doing yourself a disservice to not look at the web pages of the restorers on the classifieds under services... A few of my favorites... Madaspenhome.com (I love max's work) and gemstarcustoms.com (glen is the man). A razor from either will be immaculate and crazy sharp... Please don't overlook the classifieds unless you are dead set on a new blade.

Excellent, thanks. Now I have seven quotes. I think I will base my decission on price since I think of my shave den on a utilitarian basis, they arenot much to look at but they get the job done real well.

well so far I think i've been advised to get an Illinois company strop, so i'm gonna get me one of those.

good advise on having it honed by one of you guys so that I can see what it is suppose to shave like the first time since the razor has been in storage for i'm assuming many of years.

I being myself will research the crap out of everything, but I still need some advise on the soap and cream to get.

I'm looking for everyones personal favorites, and those that people have tried and didn't care for.

I am confused on hose the hanging strops are better than boarded since one of the main things is to keep it tight, but i'll research that a bit on my own.

I can't wait to get my first razor, hopefully is as nice looking as the one for sale on here

As stated previously, you had best take a look at the reviews section, and its archive, both available via the main forum. Skin types vary wildly, too, so I would strongly advise to obtain samples before buying.
