This hasn't happened yet (Key word yet) but I was wondering what happens if you ding a blade. I know sooner or later I might drop it or catch the faucet or something stupid like that. Does it depend on how bad the ding is, does it need to be re honed? At times I can be one of those what if people. Don't worry, it will get annoying down the road.

If you ding a blade it would, at mininum need to be rehoned. Worse case scenario is the blade would be toast. Depending on the size and placement of the ding it could fall anywhere between the 2

+1 It would depend on the severity of the ding. Let's face it, we've all done it at one time or another. I bumped the blade against the faucet. There was another thread where someone dropped his and the blade shattered. It's so easy to lose focus for just a split second, then bang it happens. The best cure is to keep your focus on what you are doing.

I dinged a blade on the faucet, it needed rehoning. I didn't even notice until I'd finished shaving.

I dropped a blade in the sink while shaving, luckily, my thumb broke it's fall, A vintage Goldedge, and it was OK ! My thumb wasn't, gross....Lot's of blood that day.

P.S. Safety Tip: Make sure your hands are COMPLETELY dry before you pick up your razor....
