Thread: New to SRP

Howdy, I am new to SRP. I have shaved with DE for 20+ years. I have gone thru the odd carteridge, GII, Mach3 when i have had momentarily lapse in reason. I have had the odd aspiration to give the straights a go. I do not have the time or patience to learn the finer art at the moment. I will stick around if thats ok?

Anyway, i am travelling to Vietnam this week for upto two weeks. A day or two in HCMC & off to Vung Tau. I have never been to VTM before, i am looking forward to it. I was advised by Truckman on TSD that there may be a member on here that could offer some direction on the where abouts of somed shaving swag there.

Any pointers will be appreciated.

Yeah, there might be a member, maybe even two, who can offer some direction.

You might want to take a look in the Classifieds section of this forum. There you can get reasonably priced quality stuff. Instead of paying $100 for a new razor, you can get a perfectly good one, that is shave ready, for less than $50. If you discover that straights are not right for you, it happens, then you can just turn it around and sell it again.

There is a young member of SRP in VN, but I forget his username, some months ago he PM'd some great pics of 'nam but like an idiot I have deleted those posts and can no longer remember who it was. Hes there teaching.

Welcome to SRP. Check out the SRP Wiki here if you haven't already. Many tutorials, a razor data base as well as razors to avoid.

The Wiki and the Classifieds are great tools, but don't forget the Search function. Beyond that, don't be afraid to ask questions. We encourage it even when the questions have been answered before and there's always somebody willing to help.

Guys , some good advice. When i do decide to take the plunge I will be asking you fellas for advice on whats required & the best place to get it. Utopian, the second hand option sounds great too me.
