Thread: Kenrup is one awesome guy

So yesterday was a good day for me. Two packages in the mail. One contained two minty razors (unfortunately I think both will eventually need rescaling, but the blades are pristine) and the other contained a special order from Kenrup. If you stop by ruprazor.com you'll notice that he makes oboe reed knives out of resto razors. My girlfriend plays oboe and makes her own reeds, so I thought it would be cool if I made her a custom knife (Straights are like six times better than the things she uses) So I contacted him a while back and asked him what sort of blade he uses. Kenrup, being the awesome dude he is, gave me some advice. Then he made me an amazing offer! He set me up with an outstanding blade, and even honed it to the right bevel for an oboe reed knife (obviously its different from a straight razor bevel, don't ask me why). Then, when I asked him about the sheaths in the picture, he included some leather for me to make one too! All the while I must admit that there must be some catch, like the photo was too good to be true, or there was something wrong with the razor. NOPE! Kenrup set me up with a sweet blade, ready to cut, and the leather piece he sent me is the same as he uses on his strops, all for an amazing price.
It's been an absolute pleasure dealing with him, he is a great dude, and I just felt he deserved some recognition. This isn't a plug for ruprazor.com. It's a plug for an awesome guy who helped me out tremendously.
