Default A lot of sucess with my Inox

I am geting to a point where my Inox is about to surpass what my Gillette Super Speeds can do for me. The only problem that I am running into is that the straight shave takes me a while to do since I am new to the job. I would like to get this done first thing in the morning thereby replacing my eight super speeds with the one Inox saving a lot of space. Since I do not have a lot of time in the morning the Inox is not something that I can shave with however I would like to shave with it in the morning.

I'm griping a bit here. I find sometimes its better to get these things off my chest in a forum where folks are knowlegable about my situation. I also love saying that although I have only completed five shaves this time around, I have done straight shaves eight other times without any sucess until I was taught that my problem was honing, that I have cut myself millions of times shaving but never ever never with a straight, its always been one of my super speeds that have done that.

Never have talked about my my carbon steel dovo. That one was honed by Lynn Abrams some time ago, will have to lather up and try out the carbon steel straight.

I know I have a tendency to repeat things expecially things that get on my nerves, I will nock that off.

Which hones are you using at this point w/ your inox?

Also... If your lynn honed dovo only has a few shaves on it and has not touched any stones since arriving. I would just strop the hell out of it and shave.

The hone is one of these:

There are two straights, one is a Dovo Carbon Steel the other is a Dovo Inox. I have no idea what model the carbon steel is, but its the Inox that I have been working with and honing to a point where I can shave with it.

I usually shave in the evening before I go to bed-- if I do a 3 pass shave, I wake up and my face is still BBS. I also find it a relaxing routine before going to sleep.

+1. No point in rushing around in the morning. When I rush, I get cut. I shaved last night with 3 passes and this morning I'm still smoooooooth. Usually I start to feel the stubble starting around 3-4:00, but that's after 18 hours or so. Not bad!

LOL! Then you go to work the next day scruffy. The important thing is that you do not let this cut into your pub time.

OR, what about waking up a little bit earlier?

You can speed things up by taking a trick from the old barber manuals (time=money) and doing the second pass as an XTG pass using only water.
