    Default One Month Checkin

I'm at about the one month point now in my journey to learn how to straight razor shave and its been interesting. Thanks to everyone on this forum for all the advice posted - you are all incredibly helpful.
I'm getting much more comfortable wielding my blade. I can even shave my upper lip and all around my mouth. This morning I did a full WTG, a full XTG and began shaving ATG. I have to remember to significantly reduce my angle when going ATG. Only very, very slight irritation and only needed to do a slight touchup at the end with my DE.

To my fellow newbies out there - there have been many ups and downs this past month and a few times I thought there was no way I would be albe to do this. But now I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. A smooth, irritation free, nick free shave really is possible with a straight razor. If someone told me I would look forward to shaving every day I would have told them they were nuts, but this really is fun and a great challenge. I love the way my face feels after shaving and get a great feeling a satisfaction.

Thanks again to everyone on this forum. Your encouragement and advice are invaluable!

Thanks for sharing, Ira! It sounds like you are
well on your way. One of the most enjoyable
parts of straight razor shaving is seeing your
    shaves improving daily
