E-bay or Straights period can turn into a fever after 8-10 you may start to get a little more picky. I only use Sniper Programs or Manual Snipe on ebay now it kinda takes the edge off and gives me time to reconsider. Other wise I end up paying more than I wanted.

It will get better just keep in mind there will almost always be another one.

I second the "killing my bank account" thing... I have 2 straights that is shaveable, and another 3 that I bought to learn honing and stropping... Now I just have to get a strop and a fine grit hone...oh, did I say I only shaved three times so far?? I keep telling myself I'm gonna save money in the long run ;D

+1. Don't feel bad, Ogie. Why do you think I sold off those razors? All the funds just had a brief layover in my Paypal account before their connecting flight to Louisiana, thanks to Joe Chandler's recent "Third Party" sale.

HAH! I can't help but think I might be at your investment level before long, Ray.

Thanks again for the Red Injun. Can't wait to try it out.

I have three at the moment, all purchesed within the last month. I'm trying to avoid spending a ton of cash on them, I'm aiming for a 7 day rotation, excluding the first one I bought.

I second the get different types of razors thing, so far, none of mine are particularly similar. I'd quite like a smallish wedge next, and I want an American blade as well, might try and kill two birds with one stone.

Nah, I try to stay away from the really expensive stuff.

I did try the Jedi mind trick, "You will... let me... buy this... Livi." Didn't work though.

I'm going on 30 years shaving with a straight and tonight, Steve Dempster from the Invisible Edge and Thiers-Issard UK is going to post some pictures of the custom 7-day set that TI just made for me. So, the moral is there's no cure for RAD!

    try Genco
I had a couple of smallish wedges they made and I'm almost positive (without going to look) that they were US

Robeson is a VERY good US maker

    Hey Ogie,
Im a newbie two..for 4 months now. Ive got 4 razors, with two on the way from ebay. My first razor is a 5/8's, thought that was fine...now ive got a 7/8's and love it much more.
Its not recomended that newbies shave with the bigger razors, but i went ahead and tried it anyhow and decided im all about the 7/8's and 8/8 or bigger now. lol
These dudes are right about trying different sizes to decided what ya like.

    Mac
