I shave every other evening for two reasons:
    1) I don't have to be clean shaven daily for work.
    2) My face feels too "exfoliated" if I shave daily, almost irritated. It needs a rest every other day.

I'm in exactly the same boat.

If I go for a truly BBS shave, there's not much to shave 24 hours later. But 48 hours later I'm a bit stubbly. If I could alternate morning and evening shaving- i.e. a 36 hours schedule, it would probably be perfect. But mornings are out as of now, as my 2&4 year olds get too rambuncious too early in the morn for me to sneak in a shave.

If I go for every 24 hours, I don't really need it, and as another mentioned I feel over-exfoliated. Every once in a while I'll do two days in a row, but not very often.

If I just did a 2 pass shave, that looked good, and was close to BBS, but not really, I could probably shave ever 24 hours, but I love that BBS feel...

    The Quest continues....

Lately I've been aiming for a nice, close, DFS shave that is not entirely BBS, but is definitely a DFS, and it lasts around a day. That is, it's "just the right amount" of stubble the next morning. This allows me to comfortably shave every morning, but look completely presentable and clean shaven for the entirety of my waking hours.

If I go for BBS, it seems to last about a day and half. It also makes shaving the following morning potentially not enjoyable due to irritation, which means I should take a day off. I don't like taking a day off, I like shaving too much!! Plus, the second half of the second day after a BBS doesn't look or feel as close as the second half of the day of a DFS shave, if that makes sense.

Based on looking in the mirror, I don't think anyone who's not paying close attention would notice much difference between a fresh DFS shave and a true BBS shave (without touching it).

Either way, I fully expect my results to change as I continue to dial in my technique. I suspect I'll get to the point where I can get BBS every morning, whether I "needed" to shave or not, and have it still be very comfortable, without irritation. At least, this is my end goal

I shaved 'round 11am, today. I had a completely smooth face, to the touch. Now, at 20:30pm, it still looks alright, but probing ATG, I can feel the stubble coming up. Tomorrow morning, my face will feel like sandpaper and a gray shade will be visible (I have a black beard).

I don't need to appear clean shaved at my work, so I will probably shave again in the evening tomorrow, before I get to the pub, to grab a beer with my friend, who also shaves with a straight. He will be as smooth as I. Our wifes think we're nuts.

I'd say 2 days, which is good because that gives some time for the nicks from the previous shave to heal. Shaving every day is too much for my sensitive skin.

I shave daily. My face feels smooth WTG for a few
hours, then the stubble returns. By the evening I'm
nowhere near smooth, but my beard looks OK. The
next morning I do not look presentable at all, and
    the cycle repeats itself

i get about a day and a half as well. but i usually wait 2 or 3. when i shave with a blade im testing or trying out, i sometimes get raw skin. so i like to wait an extra day (thats when i wait 3 days).

keep in mind your skin. the hair may be ready to come off, but the skin isnt always ready.

I shave every AM at 6:30: When I am done I have a near BBS all over but there are some problem areas. I would say by 3 -4pm I can definitely feel stubble although it is not very noticeable to sight. By next AM I need to shave for work and even tho I don't consider my beard heavy I can see and feel the whiskers.

So far with the best result it was two days and shave on the third other than that its been a day and a half with a shave on the second night, still way better than the twin blades though atleast I enjoy shaving now its no longer a chore.
