Default First straight - Thanks to Kenrup

    It's here.

My first official straight, an original Wapienica from Ken at ruprazors.com.

I was taken aback. The photos do this thing no justice. The stainless steel scales have a nice rounded form, with a fantastic smoothness. I figured they'd be two flat planks of metal to house the blade.

Wrong. It's a thing of beauty, really. It doesn't have the panache of a vintage, but it's a sleek, sweet razor with a lot of character. The scales were lighter than expected, too. Yeah, there's a little more weight compared to some straights I've held, but not enough I felt I'd have trouble controlling it. It feels nice in the hand.

With the general opinion on the quality of the blade, the appearance is just icing on the cake... nice icing.

    Thank you, Ken.

Enjoy your new razor the Wapi shaves very well and Ken does a great job honing razors. My little brother has a wapi that I had the pleasure of shaving with. He has several other razors and still reaches for the wapi. So have a good time shaving!!!

Ken is a good guy. Now you just need to find a second straight for when this one needs sent out for honing

No doubt, kudos to Ken, and to you on your decision to do business with him. I got my Wapi from him aout 3 weeks ago, also my first str8; love it. Have since bought a couple more str8s and looking forward to getting another Wapi soon. Keep an eye on your bank account; mine has dwindled in the past two weeks.

I checked out ruprazors.com and it seems like a dead link (goes to a search engine). Is "Ken" at a new web page now? I am brand new and looking for my first razor. Looks like from what I'm hearing here this is the way to go.

    Thanks in advance.
